Winter Olympics: Norway finish with a record 39 medals overall as they claim top spot.

The final event of Pyeongchang Winter Olympics saw Norway’s Marit Bjorgen win gold in the women’s cross-country skiing 30km mass start classic. Her win ensured Norway finished with 14 gold medals same as Germany, but Norway edged the Germans on overall medals with 39 medals as Germany finished second in the medal table with 31 medals.

Marit Bjorgen won 5 medals at Pyeongchang 2018 as she won a medal in every event she contested. She now has 15 medals (eight golds, four silvers and three bronzes) overall and became the most decorated Winter Olympian.

Canada finished third in the medal table with 11 golds, 8 silvers and 10 bronzes.
