Manchester City possess high confidence as they clearly stand with 16 points above United at the top of the Premier League standings. They’ve comfortably defeated each of their rivals in a highly sophisticated style of which some of their victories include that of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge; Manchester United at Old Trafford; Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool were thrashed at home as well.
The Citizens had a blip in Premier League with a 4-3 defeat at Liverpool. Although, the 4-3 defeat is the exact scoreline most European giants would likely want to have as the aggregate in a two-legged clash; most especially if you’re able to have the kind of 5-0 win City had in September against the Reds.
Manchester City are likely to have the EPL title wrapped up by April if their form continues at its current pace. Their massive lead at the top of the Premier League is an added advantage to their dream of European glory. Although, the round of 16 is played by high profile football teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint German and others, the Citizens’ manager, Guardiola, has pronounced that Manchester City are in for the gong. He is a well-experienced manager who has won the UCL twice as a manager and also enjoyed UCL glory with Barcelona during his playing days. The reality behind is that, European football giants and other continent’s leading football clubs will be hoping to avoid Manchester City with the scary prospect and the top form of some City’s players like Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling.
It could be said that City have gone so far and are capable of beating any side on the planet. The possibility of Manchester City winning the UCL is turning to a reality, for the first time ever since Sheikh Mansour took possession if the club over 10 years ago. While dreams do come true, Pep Guardiola’s side still have more to do to conquer the likes of PSG, Barca, Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Juventus. Under Guardiola, however, City have learnt that nothing is impossible. City are ready!
