French Ligue 1 leaders’ Paris Saint. Germain has seen their champions league hopes suffer a huge blow, with Neymar ruled out for a month.
The Brazilian striker has been diagnosed with a fractured metatarsal and a sprained ankle. The 26 years old has scored 29 goals and 16 assists in 30 games for PSG since his £200m move from FC Barcelona.
He was injured during PSG 3-0 win over Marseille in Ligue 1. The club said in a press statement that he suffered “a sprain of the right ankle and fissure of the fifth metatarsal”.
Although the paris-based club didn’t state how long he will be out injured, but this type of injury the Brazilian star suffered will definitely take over a month which automatically rules him out of PSG champions league home match against Real Madrid scheduled on March 6, 2018. PSG lost 3-1 at Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg and with their star player ruled out of the return leg, their hopes has suffered a major setback.
Neymar has been a key player for them in this season UEFA champions league with 6 goals and 3 assists in 7 games.
