Juan Martin del Potro

Juan Martin del Potro is having a good 2018 so far. Apparently one of the in-form players on tour right now. He beat world number one Roger Federer 6-4 6-7(8-10) 7-6(7-2) to claim his first career ATP 1000 Masters.

In recent years, Juan Martin del Potro has struggled to be at his best. Due to several wrist injuries and also undergoing three operations. But all that struggle seems to be in the past now. As the Argentinian international ended Roger Federer’s 17 games unbeaten run. This is Federer first loss of 2018.

Juan Martin del Potro won ATP Acapulco title earlier this month. And then moved back into the world’s top 10. However, his biggest accomplishment will be the 2009 US Open. He uniquely beat Rafael Nadal in the semifinal and then Roger Federer in the finals. Which is his only Grand Slam title. In total, Juan Martin del Potro has won 22 career titles since turning professional in 2005.

After the finals, Juan Martin del Potro said “It’s difficult to describe with words.” Obviously winning Roger Federer in a final match will be amazing. After the surgeries and all that, 2018 is a new challenge for Juan Martin del Potro to become one of the best in the game.

He now has 17 wins in 2018 alongside Roger Federer. Although the Swizz international won a Grand Slam (2018 Australian Open), del Potro will be pretty proud of himself. Cause he has won two titles with one being a Masters title.

And he will surely have a chance of adding to that record. With the ATP Miami Masters schedule to start this week.
