Can PSG stage a comeback against Real Madrid?

After a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu, Paris Saint-German are very optimistic about a second-leg victory. Tactician and Italian Coach, Carlo Ancelotti, who once coached both teams talked about PSG’s chances even with the absence of Neymar who sustained an ankle injury in the last match.

Carlo Ancelotti said Madrid’s focus is strictly on the Champions League, which is the competition they always want to win, even with the presence of a player in their squad who wants victory always — Cristiano Ronaldo. Hence, PSG needs drillings and practices to avoid a second leg defeat. Although, the 58-year-old is optimistic about PSG’s chances of mid-way victory against Madrid, he also disclosed that he expects a close tie between the two teams.

Obviously, Paris Saint-German have everything required for a victorious game. They have more experienced players and more quality than the previous year. They have gotten more matured and dangerous in their gameplay, and if they work harder, they will surely beat Madrid, judging by their 3-0 win against Marseille. Nonetheless, comparing a Madrid side to a Ligue 1 Marseille isn’t a logical comparison. On a good day, Madrid have no competition which was what we say in the 2017 UCL final against Juventus.

PSG’s outstanding performance against one of the best teams in France must have pleased Unai Emery, however, he still needs to work out a better strategy since Neymar might be out of games for the next few months; and more focus should be laid on building a better and standby defence. Without a strong defence, Madrid might still have massive victory against the Italian side in their second leg. Although, Emery must have been impressed with PSG’s victory against Marseille, PSG need to do more if they are to make a claim in this year’s edition of the greatest club competition in the world.

Zinedine Zidane’s players may not be in the hottest form of their lives, but they can surely give the world a surprise like they did in the first leg. In football, nothing is impossible. This implies that PSG can break through into the final stage while the same is applicable to Madrid. Every football fan can’t wait to see the match between both teams; it would be a joy to behold!
